Perfect Autumn Day ~ Day for observation!

Today, was the perfect Autumn day. It was warm in the sun and just a bit cool in the shade. It's interesting to observe what people chose out of their wardrobes on a day like this. I managed to spot a gentleman wearing a fantastically fitting chesterfield coat with slanted pockets, like the ones on riding jackets. He pulled off a crazy-patterned tweed casket which, polished the whole look up. He surely had some aura in the middle of Tokyo. On the other hand, I saw people only wearing plaid shirts and jeans. Great day to observe fashion!

Not much action myself. But, I managed to hit the bookstore and remembered that today was the 10th. (I think people who understood what I tried to point out by the "10th" are either crazy about fashion or people who love to hit the bookstore.) Yes, the 10th indeed is the day when mens magazines hit the book shelfs. Today, was one of those days when you see men assembling at bookstores trying to find their favorite fashion item or sifting through magazines for inspiration.

I picked up two magazines myself. My favorite stylist, Tomoki Sukezane directed a huge portion of the magazines, which meant BUY. If you have the chance, check out Speed or Fame? on Popeye. He compiled and mashed up great looks under the theme - ice skating. His sidekick and famous photographer Junji Hata has polished up gorgeous photos, just fascinating touch! I try to mimic his touch, but always fall short.

Skimming through, I saw some interesting trends. Tremendous amount of nordic patterned items, chunky sweaters and enormous mufflers. Similar trends from the women's. I remember my friend
saying, she wanted something "nordic" this season. Chunky sweaters and huge mufflers seen on the fall collection has dominated the pages this season. Notable influences from designers like Thom Browne.

Can' wait to see people incorporating these trends in their daily fashion. I'm thinking of trying out these trends myself. Hope I can update you on this issue.
