Headed out to the major fashion districts of Tokyo with my friend. My main purpose was to check out 10 Corso Como by Comme des Garcon and the rookie brand, At Last&Co's official store in Aoyama. We started off by fetching lunch at a cafe located with in the newly opened furniture store Franc Franc. As you can see from the picture, its exterior is inspired by a warehouse.
After getting lunch, we rambled along Aoyama for a while and headed to 10corso como. On the way, we encountered many futuristic boutiques, like Prada and Comme des Garcon. On the contrary, we also encountered traditional looking elementary schools on the same street. Tokyo is certainly a weird city. What caught my eye at 10 corso como was Thom Browne's kid's clothes. Sturdy, great fabric and has that "Thom Browne fee"l but, was unbelievably pricey.
We then walked around the center of Aoyama and came along a great bookstore near by Dries Van Noten, it was filled with fashion related books. It was the place to be! Found so many book that I would die for. Escaping from the core of Aoyama we headed to Timeworn Clothing located on the corner of route 246. This store started by a ex-Tenderloin member stock's its signature brand At Last&Co which is brand similar to Tenderloin but with a more vintage smell. I wanted to check out a pair of denim trouser from the same brand but didn't spot it and found that there was a fundamental problem. Their size only starts from 30inches.
After hitting, Kitson, Rugby, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Channel at Omotesando, we found ourselves in Montook a cafe located next to kiddy land. It's stylish and modern exterior does not resemble a cafe of any kind.
My friend, a macaron fanatic was craving to have a bite off macarons by Pierre Herme and so we headed off to Aoyama for them. I'm not so good with sweet stuff but, these macarons were delicious, we had a luxurious moment.
Time flew so fast and I had to head off to Shinjuku to pick up my denim and to eat dinner with my friend from college. There was so much to explore in Aoyama district. I definitely need another session to check out more stores.
It's unbelievable! Releasing a capsule collection with the french mason, Lanvin, mega retailer H&M is on to a collection with fashion giant Tom Ford. This was reported by the French Tribune earlier this week, it said this limited collection is going to be identical to the one appearing on French Vogue, December - January issue. Tom Ford invited guest editor for this issue by Carine Roitfeld. Hmmm got to check this issue out.
While unforeseen collaboration are surfacing, Barker Black (tradition meets contemporary) opened a new boutique in LA. Barker Black shoes were long awaited "fun" shoes for men. Gimmicks, like a skull on the sole of the shoe and on the brogues, make Barker Black distinct from its associates in the shoe department. I actually own a pair of wing tips and is fantastic. Take a look at what I'm trying to get across.
The new kitsune maison compilation 10 is now available on iTunes!! Long awaited compilation has arrived. I'm gonna get the CD though!
This compilation is worth mentioning because, Strange Talk's first official recording of Climbing Walls is recorded. (Strange Talk is an indie band based in Australia) Climbing Walls was used in Kitsune's promotional video for their 2011 Spring-Summer collection and ever since, epic fans of kitsune are talking about them. Their song has that catch of Two Door Cinema Club combined with electro sounds similar to Delphic. Killer tune, I'm addicted to this song!!

I really want the round collar chambray shirt and t-shirt from the last look on the video.
Do you have specific ways to wash your clothes?? I mean did you ever wonder why you get that white fuzz on the top of your favorite shirt or sweater? or Your favorite shirt or t-shirt gets that tan?
There are numerous "how to" tips out in the world. I'm going to introduce a couple that I personally use.
I guess the most significant "how to" concerns denim. Everyone just adores denim and wants to have their denim "washed" in a certain way. I prefer to keep mine in a dark tone so, I try not to wash my denim frequently.
Try to keep your denim dark:
1) Try not to overly wash your denim.
2) Wash your denim inside out.
3) Don't use detergent or only use special denim detergent.
4) Never dry your denim in a dryer!! Always, dry in the sun.
This method also creates beautiful whiskers and variety in tone.
What about your shirt!? I guess this also depends on the person. Here's a tip or two to keep your favorite shirt from tanning and from being distressed.
Shirts:
1) Wash your shirt inside out. You sweat inside not out! Also prevents from tanning.
2) Use a stain remover or stain bar (soap bar looking one!) on the collar and cuffs
3) If you want to keep your shirt "extra white" use detergent specially made for washing white.
4) If your shirt is a dark tone, use detergent made for dark colors (also works with denim)
5) Again, don't use the dryer!! Using the dryer takes away the color from the fabric and gives that distinct white fuzzy-ness on the top layer.
I think your getting the basics by now. Sweaters goes like this.
Sweater:
1) Don't wash your knit sweater that often. It damages the fabric. When you must, go to the dry cleaners because their pro's. I recommend getting your sweaters done at Water Cleaning its a much better solution for your sweater.
2) At home, use the sink. Fill it with cool water and add special detergent made for wool fabrics.
3) Dip your sweater inside out for about 30mins.
4) Clear out the water in the sink and wash away the detergent thats soaked in the sweater.
5) Push out the water from the sweater. Never twist your sweater like a towel!
6) Lay your sweater on a dry towel and role it in so it takes away the water.
7) Finally, un-role the towel and lay the towel and sweater on a rack to dry.
Jackets, Suits & Top Coats:
1) Always use a brush to remove dust and other things that get on to your clothes.
2) Put it on a thick and sturdy hanger.
3) Before putting it back in the closet, leave it out for day to let it breath.
4) Bring it to the dry cleaners or water cleaning at the end of the season. Again, frequently is bad!
I hope these tips will help out in anyway. I mean investing in new clothes every season is one thing but keeping your clothes preserved in a good manner will save you a bulk of money and extend the life of your favorite piece.

Rugby Night Out was a great night, with more than 100 people at the the newly opened store in Omotesando, the party ended in peace. I was going to get a few items at the party but, ended up not. I was just busy taking photos and talking with my friends who work there.
One more thing I want to mention. It's a music topic.... Daft Punk is going to back in the music scene!!! Recently, I was fiddling with an movie app on my iphone and was informed that Daft Punk were involved in making the original score for the Disney film Tron Legacy. It's been five years since their last release and I am so pumped. The original sound track is going to be released on December 15th. Never been this excited by a movie soundtrack!!
You probably noticed that these objects are made out of pet bottles and L.E.D. Love the ECO vibe.
I drove out to Shinjuku with my friend and enjoyed an espresso at Paul Bassett (2006 barista champ). The illumination was wonderful, I mean people need to thank these places for making a scene. It surprised me that people walking around Tokyo didn't seem to appreciate the illumination. We only encounter a trio of girl who expressed their delights!
I was able to buy the +J coat mentioned in my earlier posts. It's a great charcoal coat, with peaked lapels and a super trim fit. I love the fact that it has a change pocket (an extra flap-pocket above the ordinary flap pocket on the front).
Oh, yeah! I bet the news is around but, I couldn't resist to mention that the 2010 CFDA / Vogue Fashion Fund winners were announced. Billy Reid received the prestige award, Prabal Gurung and Eddie Borgo were announced runners-up. Billy Reid had received the 2010 GQ/CFDA award earlier this year as well. His clothes are based on the traditional American wear with a modern trim fit and an essence of the South. (the brand is based in the southern region of the U.S) It's like a non-distressed version of RRL but with a Thom Browne like sizing. Unfortunately, he isn't very famous in Japan and there are no stockist here. I guess this news will push the Japanese buyer's and stores to stock up Billy Reid.... very interesting to see which store will be the first.
I received a little something in the mail box three days ago.
From, Rugby (That just opened its first store in Japan). Inside....
An invitation to a private shopping event / party. It says...
"We invite you to enjoy the holiday collection before its launch. Cool and elegant, the holiday collection is about plaid and nordic patterns with a "Rugby" twist. Please, enjoy shopping with refreshments"
I hope I can post insider shots of this event!
I was reading a life style/culture magazine Casa Brutus that just was released last Friday. A riveting article title: "little Thom Browne".
from - Casa Brutus Issue #129
Thom Browne after announcing its official collection for Women's (he had small capsule collections before) is now on to creating clothing for kids!!! Adorable, little cardigans and beanies. Can't wait to see little Thom Browne on the racks.
