A staple. Denim is the everyones favorite. What makes it so special? Is it the rigid texture of raw denim or is it because you can break them in to engrave your own history? Is it in the detail?
誰しもが一本を持っているデニム。何がその魅力でしょうか？生デニムの風合い？それとも穿着込む程に自分の歴史を刻める事？千差万別です。
From the masses, I've picked up a pair from Rugby and is my to go from last fall. What attracted me to this young rebellious brand was the shape and fabric (yes, I confess the price too!). This pair has gotten me into loving a slim shape with tapered legs. It's not that skinny rock musician silhouette but a slightly loose waist/hip accompanied by a mid-rise that comes just about an inch under your belly button. The legs are slightly tapered from the knee down with about 14~14.5 inches(17-18cm) of leg opening. I love the nonchalance of this shape.
市場に出回っている幾千のデニムの中から昨年の秋から気に入っているのがRugby.私がRugbyのデニムに惹かれたのは形と素材。このデニムを購入していらい、同じ様な形のものを好んで買う様に。スリムフィットでありながら、腰回りは少しゆとりがあり、股上は浅すぎず深すぎす。膝下からテーパードし、裾幅は17cm。頑張りすぎない緩さがこの形の魅力です。
The detail is also my taste. The preppy sports tag on the waist, oxford fabric used as pockets, selvedge coin pockets, slightly bigger back pockets and last but not least selvedge on leg opening.
もちろんディテールも自分好み。プレッピーなタグ、オックスフォード生地を使用したポケット、セルビッジが付いたコインポケット、大きめなバックポケット、そして、裾に付いたセルビッジ。
I've already spotted the successor. I'm thinking of getting a pair from Naked & Famous Denim. A Canadian brand solely dedicated to using top quality Japanese denim fabric from Okayama. They produce awesome products.
新年を迎えた事ですし、そろそろ新しいデニムに目を付けています。カナダのNaked & Famous Denimは岡山県産のセルビッジ素材などしか使わない質実剛健なブランドで、昨年22オンスのデニムを発表して話題にもなりました。
